“Shadow and Bone fans rage as Netflix figures reveal cancelled show was close to being saved”

This article discusses the outrage that fans were experiencing after Netflix cut the fictional TV show “Shadow and Bone” in late 2023, as well as any chance of a “Six of Crows” spin off for the future. This piece is a non-fiction investigative report written by Jacob Stolworthy for ‘independent’  to capture the “rage” that ‘Shadow and Bone’ fans were experiencing. The feature uses statistics to successfully back up this outrage and the outpouring of support from fans to renew the show. This cancellation is claimed to have followed cost cutting from Netflix due to the writers strike, but not 6 months earlier Netflix cancelled the similarly popular show “Lockwood and Co.”, which led fans to be outraged and to believe there was a more in depth reason for the cancellation of both shows, especially given that “Shadow and Bone” featured some well known stars, such as Ben Barnes, who also starred in the ‘Narnia’ franchise and Zoe Wanamaker, as well as placing 29 out of more than 18,000 titles.
This article uses quotes from fans, such as “Looky here. Shadow and Bone S2. Released mid March so less than half of the stats period and still made it to #26. So why not make S3 and the spinoff?”, in order to drive home, that fans are not happy with the cancellation of the show.
